From Bartenders To Bartenders — the story behind Scandic Bar
Forty years, one working principle: build the tools you'd want on your own shift. A short history of Scandic Bar and the people behind it.

Scandic Bar started, as many good things in hospitality do, with a complaint on a busy Friday night. A shaker that leaked, a jigger that never sat right, a coupe that shattered on the third service. Our founder — a bartender himself — decided he could do better and, in the mid-1980s, began sourcing tools directly from small European workshops for his own bar.
Forty years later, the working principle hasn't changed. Every product we sell is built with — and often by — working bartenders. Every prototype spends six months on a real back bar before it enters the catalogue. Every complaint from a Friday night finds its way back to our product team on Monday morning.
That's what #FromBartendersToBartenders actually means. It's not a slogan we put on the packaging. It's a commitment to design decisions made from behind the stick, not from behind a desk. It's why our shakers have a heavier base, why our jiggers use European steel, and why our coupes come from a Bohemian glasshouse that still works by hand.
Today Scandic Bar supplies barware to hundreds of the leading bars, restaurants and hotel groups across the Nordics — and increasingly, across Europe. We remain a Danish company, family-owned, with a small team of former bartenders running product, wholesale and support.
If you work in hospitality, we'd like to work with you. Apply for a trade account, join us at a fair, or drop us a line — the bar is still the room we know best.
